Happy New Year to my Blogger Friends.
New Year's Resolutions. Bah Humbug.
The good news is despite gaining back some of the weight I lost, I am still down by 8 pounds, so this is the first new year in a long time that I started it weighing less than I did the previous.
The bad news is that it doesn't take long at all to gain weight. I don't even think I overindulged, but I definitely need to eat more healthy foods. I am trying STILL and ALWAYS.
The weather has been glorious. I am happy. No snow. I don't care if it gets cold, but I don't want snow unless it is on a Thursday night and school is closed on Friday. I do not drive in the snow. I hate it. I am a city girl, and should have never moved to the suburbs where you have no choice but to depend on cars.
In our area, 44 elementary schools and 4 high schools among the Catholic schools are slated for closing. I am shocked and appalled that the Archdiocese of Philadelphia allowed the crisis to get to the point where they closed so many schools and create havoc for so many children, their parents, and the dedicated employees who work there. While I understand some of the reasoning behind the decision, it just seems like poor management and poor decision making and once again not caring about the individuals it creates serious issues for. What will become of the Catholic faith?
Someday, I am afraid that his will happen to our school district. The lack of planning and long term vision is frightening.to me.
I wanted to participate in the Novel Writing in the month of November, but never did, but I have been working on my novel. I just can't seem to get it to move anywhere. I have gone over and over it but it doesn't fit together. I keep trying.
So, my New Year's goals:
1. Eat healthy (hopefully lose weight)
2. Walk
3. Work on my Novel
4. Manage my Frustration Level Better
What are yours?
Thanks for reading my blog, and have a healthy, wonderful and special New Year!
Well you might consider reading the book Wheat Belly and see if you can eat less wheat and fell better in the weight area.
ReplyDeleteStuck with writing is a tough place to be. Do you have a partner to help you? Many writers have buddies and discuss their issues to find resolutions.
About the schools closing, I am very shocked! The need to have highly educated kids is greater now than ever when competing with the world market and China!
Catholics are loosing funding from around the world as more opt out of parishes. I guess they can't afford the system.
The walk part has me slowed down lately and that's not good.
As for snow, we need a bit to keep moisture around us. Just a bit.
And I like your family pics. What a lovely crew!
